Catherine Okoronkwo, of Nigerian heritage, grew up in the Middle East and studied in the USA and UK. She holds an MA with distinction (2010) and PhD (2018) in Creative Writing from Manchester Metropolitan University. Her writing credits include: ‘The Killing’ and ‘Uncle Blessing’ published by Commonword in the anthology Elevator Fiction (2016); ‘The Change’ is published in the University of Chester anthology Crossings Over (2017). Blood and Water / ọbara na mmiri is her first collection of poetry published by Waterloo Press. An interweaving of myth, metaphor and memoir, this collection explores experiences of sickness, loss and trauma. She is a Church of England priest serving in Swindon.
