Adrian Barnes was born in Blackpool, England but moved to Canada in 1969. He taught English at Selkirk College, British Columbia. He received an MA in Creative Writing (via online distance learning) from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2008. His novel NOD, published in 2012, was short-listed for the Arthur C. Clarke award. Adrian died of an aggressive brain tumour on 5th January 2018.
